Day 1
Preparing for Upcoming Therapeutic Walking Therapy
Took a nice long soak and stretched out. It's important to soak in a nice hot bath to release tension and relax the muscles. By doing so the stress of the day just slips away and the muscles in the body even ear muscles relax.
By stretching, I ensure less of a chance of pulling something on one of my walks.
I'm so ready for a therapeutic walk. Winter has been extremely difficult especially when my last surgery (Oct. 7, 2014) was so close to the worst season possible for me.
My last doctors visit was on a bad note. I was in severe pain from the tinnitus and hyperacusis we learned that changes in my right ear advanced sooner than we thought. This means I may expect the hearing loss to come on sooner than before.
My first week of therapeutic walking will be with earplugs just to get used to the sounds and document what hurts most and other symptoms.
Did my yoga ball exercise for strengthening my thigh muscles and now on to my physical therapy exercises for the knee and ankle then neck, shoulders, and back. Testing tension areas will tell me what if any issues persist. Then I'll move on to abs.
Currently, I experience an unusual increase in pain in both ears; not always at the same time as each ear has different sensitivity levels. The left ear feels block or muffled while the right ear is more irritated but sounds.
I'm also experiencing headaches and migraines more frequently than ever before. This could be due to a progression in the condition which was unforeseen but on a positive note, the vertigo and nausea are under control. However, this could be due to the advanced change in my right ear.
As the ears fill with more fluid it acts as a buffer, which somehow affects the vertigo and symptoms that come with it though this does not explain the increase and frequency of the added pain in the ears as that fluid should buffer the sounds as well acting as a temporary safety filter.
Even with taking all this into consideration I am still very hopeful and positive that this is going to be my best year yet and I am closer than ever to conquering my tinnitus and hyperacusis.
