The Affects of Weather on Tinnitus and Hyperacusis

Have you ever known someone who had an injury and whenever bad weather came around they would say, "It's going to rain I can feel it."? Many people are affected by the weather including those with tinnitus and hyperacusis.

Top FIVE Symptoms

  • Sinus Pressure
  • Blocked Ears
  • Unexplained pain in the ears or head
  • A headache or migraines
  • Spiked Tinnitus or Hyperacusis
However, it doesn't only happen with bad weather, it could be a beautiful sunny day and the weather could possibly bother someone with tinnitus or hyperacusis. There are a lot of things let play a part  such as humidity, the wind, and barometric pressure.

Today is one of those days for me. I woke with a headache right from the start which soon turned into a migraine. My ears suddenly had usual pain last night lasting into today. In addition, there's a lot of sinus pressure, nausea and feeling of blockage.

All these symptoms have thrown off my balance today. With that in mind, I have to be careful of sudden onset of vertigo. With cloudy skies overhead, I feel a bit foggy in my head as well. It's a nice warm spring day with a high expected to reach 63 F. The humidity is currently 93%, Dew Point 46%, and Barometric Pressure is reading 29.83 and rising.

My ears are ringing fiercely and my sound sensitively is quite high. On days like today, it's important not to get stressed and do only what you feel you can. Even with taking all the right steps one could still find it difficult to control symptoms. Someday's all you can do is try to get through it the best you can. On days like these one might find it extremely difficult to continue on with everyday activities let alone work.

Because of my severe case, I often get laid up in bed for a day or two which is a lot better than when I was first diagnosed which could have me in bed for a week with symptoms lasting even longer.

If you experience tinnitus and hyperacusis, we would love for you to share your experience with us. Does the weather affect you? If so, You can write to us at informed.news.wsdj@gmail.com .
