Lunchtime, BLT
It can be hard trying to find something to eat when you're not feeling well. And even harder, depending on your medical condition. That's why, here on Living with Hearing Sensitivity, we're going to be sharing some of our own mealtime ideas.
Lunch is meant to be a quick meal in the United States, simply because employers don't like giving extended breaks. In fact, an hour lunch break is not that common. By law, anything over 6 hours gives you a 30-minute lunch. Anything over 8 hours gives you a lunch and two breaks.
That being said, whether your working, not working, everyone needs a good meal and time to relax. Today lunch is a BLT sandwich, a tall glass of whole milk, and a snack of choice.
I like whole milk, while some people might prefer skim or 2% milk. I prefer turkey bacon over regular bacon because it has less fat, use garden fresh tomatoes, and the greenest lettuce I can get.
Always remember the four basic food groups meat, veggies, fruit, and dairy. Tomatoes is both a fruit and veggie, you got your greens, bread from the dairy list, and bacon. Plus, it's quick and easy to make. There's nothing I hate more than not feeling well and having to make a meal that takes an hour.
Milk is good for the bones because it's rich in calcium. If you have a medical condition such as dealing with imbalance issues, vertigo you're prone to slips and falls so it's very important to have strong healthy bones.
As for a snack, sometimes I do grapes, banana, maybe cottage cheese. It's really up to you. Apple's are hard for me to eat because the crunching can be painfully loud with my hyperacusis. But definitely another great choice for those who don't have that type of concern.
Today, I also shared a few helpful links. Just know you too can live a healthier, happier lifestyle.
Ask you're, if you're deficient in vitamin D, is it because you don't get out in the sun enough, which is the most natural way to get the vitamin D your body needs or are you not getting enough calcium, which helps your body absorb that vitamin D?
Another thing to consider is your age. As we age our body can become deficient for many reasons. Especially women when they go through menopause.
I hope you find this post helpful. Be sure to share, follow, and make suggestions for our next topic to be covered here on LWHS. I'm your host, Wendy Spickerman and I'd love to hear from you.
