How to Create a Hotel Bed

I don't know about you but it's very important for me to get a good nights sleep. After all, I have severe tinnitus and hyperacusis with vertigo induced migraines, directional and processing issues.
It's exhausting!

When we go on vacation the feel of a hotel bed is so inviting and comfortable. Lets face it, some of you may be getting 2 hrs sleep. It will be 6 yrs in April of 2019 for me and it took me 5 yrs to get my body to adjust and adapt to my tinnitus and hyperacusis so that I could sleep. I'm up to 6 hrs sleep.

However, I'm an overachiever! I like to surpass any goals I set. So this winter, I decided to change my bedroom around even more. I wanted that hotel bed feeling. And I've accomplished just that!

I'm going to share with you the steps I took to get that hotel bed feeling. It's been almost a week and I don't think I've ever slept this good at home.

SHEETS
A simple white sheet set with a high thread count is the way to go and here's why.
White looks clean, new, and welcoming. For a soft feel go with cotton and a high thread count.

COMFORTER
Double up that comforter. That little bit of extra weight makes it feel like a hotel bed.

PILLOWS
I love pillows. I've got five! A row of three then a row of two. However, when I sleep at night I use only two.

One of the things I do first thing in the morning is turn down my bed and make it. Getting into a nice clean bed really sets the mood for a good night sleep. As for cleaning, I highly recommend you clean your sheets and pillow casing twice a week, comforters once a week. That fresh clean scent helps a lot.

I know I talked about others things I've done in my blog and on my podcasts. But I wanted to update you on the most recent changes and how it's improved my lifestyle and sleep. I still have plants in my bedroom, bamboo blinds, and candles. As well as keeping a cold water on my night stand, crackers, and my medication just in case my symptoms flare or common through the night.
