Hearing Test Results In After Surgery

It was a dreadful mess out this morning, as I headed for my first hearing test since my surgery in October of 2014. It's difficult on the best of days to get tested with constant ringing in ones ears from tinnitus, even more difficult to manage the sensitivity to the sounds with hyperacusis.
As the testing got underway, they first checked to make sure the tubes were open and working. Next, we moved into the small box like room to listen for the beeps. It's not one of my favorite tests as it can be painful at times. Taking the hearing tests can set off my tinnitus and hyperacusis.
Several of the high pitch sounds while testing my right ear caused my tinnitus to flare-up. As we switched to check the left ear, I couldn't tell which sounds were real and which were not. I was pressing the buzzer as if I was playing whack the mole and it drove me crazy. I stopped the test!
