or

I was a bit nervous heading back out to work again with my new found disability. Excited to go back to work, hating endless hours of not being able to do anything alone, no walks or biking, shopping if I walked out my door I needed someone with me.
I couldn't hear a vehicle let alone its direction unless it was on the same block as me.. At the speed of traffic going 35 even 25 miles an hour that's just seconds for me 'THE HUMAN FROGGER !!!!
And I found out just how dangerous it was.
I took the commute into work and headed out. I usually do bus and walking. The doctor approved me going back to work, it must be okay right? The doctor knows about all this stuff! He's a specialist!
Just one block away from work once again I came to a stop light. I was nervous and overly careful when the light turned green I had already watched all oncoming traffic stopped in both directions and still looked three more times as I started to cross. Everyone was stopped vehicles coming were slowing behind them, then suddenly out of the corner of my eye I saw it and frozen. Right there in the middle of the road. As I looked to the right a woman with a SHOCKED LOOK on her face put her hand over her mouth. I looked down the car was less than two feet away from my body.
I didn't hear it! I bearly show it, all I saw was just this quick flash and I stopped.
When I got home I called the doctor. I can't even tell you what I did at work that day. I was just in shock that it happened. The doctor pulled me off work duty until another test could be run.
